Whether for dipping, refining sauces or as the basis for a delicious marinade - you love the red classic from Xucker and are wondering why Xucker ketchup suddenly looks different? In this article, we'll tell you all the news about our much-loved tomato ketchup.

Tomato ketchup with erythritol in a glass bottle

We are switching Xucker ketchup to regional production. At the same time, the tomato ketchup is getting a new look and an improved recipe with a unique combination of spices. The ketchup contains 58% tomatoes. For a fruity and tomatoey taste, up to 162 g of fresh tomatoes are processed per 100 g of ketchup. From now on, the popular spicy sauce is also available in a glass bottle that ensures the sauce flows out slowly for perfect portioning - just as numerous Xucker customers have requested.

Conventional ketchup is full of sugar

Tomato ketchup must contain at least 6 per cent tomato solids to be marketed as ketchup. However, other components such as vinegar, salt, spices and sugar are also crucial for the distinctive taste. Up to 45 sugar cubes (135 g sugar) are contained in a 500 ml bottle of conventional tomato ketchup. Instead of healthy tomatoes, consumers often consume a good portion of sugar when eating ketchup. Especially in the summer months and with children in the house, however, ketchup is one of the most popular foods - one bottle is used up quickly.

Xucker Tomato Ketchup with Erythritol is thus up to 55% lower in calories than commercially available tomato ketchups with added sugar. With Xucker instead of sugar, there's nothing to stop you enjoying it with a clear conscience. Tomato ketchup with erythritol can be used in a variety of ways Of course, ketchup is a must with chips, burgers or hot dogs, but we also don't want to do without the red sauce when barbecuing: Whether with grilled meat or sausages, as a dip or for fruity marinades of grilled vegetables or cheese, ketchup cannot be missed in the warm months. But that's not all - with Xucker Tomato Ketchup with Erythritol you can also refine balanced and healthy main meals with a clear conscience, because the ketchup sweetened with erythritol contains - apart from the natural sugar of the tomatoes - no other added sugar and only as many ingredients as absolutely necessary.

Fun Fact: Ket-siap - the origin of ketchup Did you know?

Ketchup probably originated in China. There, fermented fish sauce was refined with kidney beans, soy sauce, mushrooms, nuts or vinegar. Seafarers brought it from China to Europe and the USA, where it was adapted and refined to suit Western palates. In the 19th century, ketchup was finally refined with tomatoes for the first time in the USA and gained popularity worldwide.
